Sebastian's July 3rd Parade and Celebration

Posted July 18th, 2010

The City of Sebastian celebrated the 4th of July on Saturday July 3rd with a parade, music, vendor booths, and fireworks in Riverview Park. The day was overcast and a light wind blew off the Indian River making it a beautiful day. This year St. Elizabeth's entered the parade with a float and set up a booth in the park. It was first time the parish entered the parade.

The parade route was approximately a 1.8 miles long beginning at Davis St. and ending just past Riverview Park. Ken and Ray walked in front of Fr. Dave on his motorcycle, a number of walkers wearing St. Elizabeth's T-shirts who handed out candy, and the float which was themed after Jonah and the Whale.

Our booth was located in a prime location and there was interaction with a number of persons who stopped by and asked about our parish. We greeted them with a bottle of water, a koozie cup with our name and address printed on it, a brochure about the parish and a free pen.

A special thanks goes out to those who helped plan and participated in the event. It is events like this are St. Elizabeth's is slowly loosing its status of being the best kept secret in Sebastian.
