Light Up Your Grill Night outreach
Posted August 12th, 2010
The Sebastian Chamber of Commerce sponsored their annual Light Up Your Grill Night on Friday, August 9, 2010. It is a night when Chamber of Commerce members are showcased by the Chamber in a semi-scavenger hunt. The event is open to the community and all who participate are given a map of each business members location
As a member of the Chamber of Commerce this was the third time St. Elizabeth's has participated in the event. The following is a exerpt from the article in the Vero News written by Debbie Carson of the Vero News.
"Another of the evening’s winners, St. Elizabeth’s Episcopal Church took home first place for tastiest watermelon with their watermelon smoothies – which were about the first to go when the night got started.
“It’s been wonderful,” Deacon Lori Hoey said of the turnout, noting that they had more kids this time than the last two Light Up Your Grill Night events.
“We’re off the beaten trail,” she said.
Looking for the positive, traffic was higher due to the Barber Street construction, which has forced more drivers to the side roads and past the church on Clearmont Street."
A special thank you goes out to all who planned, organized, and participated in the event. It is events like this that we are able to reach out to the surrounding community and as we grow be a light to the world.
