Pet Blessing not washed out
Posted October 14th, 2011
As tropical low sat off shore and menaced the area with winds of 35 mph and gusts to 60, many events in area were cancelled. Such was not the case at St. Elizabeth's who moved the pet blessing from an outside event to an inside event. As the rain came down in sheets the pets and their owners remained dry and comfortable inside.
Two blessings were offered one at 11:00AM and the other at 1:00PM. Four vendors were on-sight, Highlands Animal Hospital, the Humane Society, HALO a no kill rescue shelter, and a pet-sitting service. Those who attended were entertained by Fr. Dave and Pam Reed who played a variety of music.
All in all the day turned out to be a fun day with approximately 25 animals and their owners receiving a blessing. A special thanks goes out to all who braved the weather, brought their pets, helped set-up, clean up, and assist.
