Memorial Day in Sebastian
Posted June 1st, 2012
Weather wise the day was a typical Florida day with dark clouds on the horizon threatening to rain and a much needed cooling breeze coming of the Indian River Lagoon. Although the threat of rain loomed in the background it did not dampen the spirit of the day and the pride of the approximate 1000 people who attended the ceremony at the Veterans Park.
To witness such a crowd to honor our veterans was a exhilarating moment especially for the many members of St. Elizabeth veterans who participate in the event. St. Elizabeth's is blessed to have so veterans who have served their country either in war or peace time. In additions to the veterans who participated there were many from the congregation who came out to pay tribute - both veteran and civilian alike.
A special thank you goes out to honor those who gave all and all those who gave. We honor all our veterans and current military. May God keep all of them safe.
