July 4th Celebration
Posted July 5th, 2012
The Fourth of July is a time when the country stops and celebrates it’s birthday. Whether we call it Independence Day or The Fourth it is a special day. All across the United States there were parades, fairs, BBQ’s, and of course fireworks displays.
In our community, Sebastian, there is the Freedom Festival. It starts with the Raising of the flag at Veteran’s Park, a 5K run and of course a great parade that covers approximately 1.5 miles along Indian River Blvd. and ends at Riverside Park.
For the third straight year St. Elizabeth’s entered the parade and had a kiosk at the park with many give-a-ways. The theme of the float was “Where is your treasure” based on Matthew 6:21.
Thanks to all who helped with the float, the parade and the kiosk. Many hands made light work.
