Mike Granger - ORGANIST

​

Michael was born & raised in Maryland.  He studied Music at the Peabody Conservatory in Baltimore, but elected to pursue a career in Engineering, graduating from the University of Maryland with a BS degree in Electrical Engineering & MS degrees in Computer Science and Electrical Engineering from Johns Hopkins University.  Michael moved from Maryland to Florida two years ago to enjoy the good and sunny life here.  He just retired from a 40-year career in engineering and looks forward to spending more time doing things like swimming, bicycling, flying, and of course, music.  His musical pursuits over the years have included playing in rock and pop bands, accompanying choral groups and serving as a church organist.  Michael has been flying since he earned his pilot’s license in 1974, built and flew an experimental airplane and is currently an FAA Certified Flight Instructor.  Michael is married and has four children and two grandchildren.
